Board of Education Goals 2001-02
Construction
Oversee the progress of construction projects approved in the June 2000 bond referendum. Monitor all projects to ensure quality of finished work, appropriate allocation of budget, and earliest possible completion.
Elementary Redistricting
Direct the development of an overall elementary redistricting plan to balance the school populations and optimize facility utilization.
Middle School Attendance Zones & Transition Plans
Determine attendance zones for the two 5-8 middle schools. Review bus transportation guidelines and the start/end times of all schools in the district. Monitor development of plan for transition from one middle school to two.
Responsible Citizenship
Oversee the review of district-wide programs related to our Mission Statement and Standard of Excellence of Responsible Citizenship. Expand programs addressing issues of respect and social decision-making. Review policies and practices regarding responsible student behavior.
Kindergarten
Identify options for an extended kindergarten program to be considered for implementation when elementary school space is available.
Class Size
Establish review criteria for determining appropriate elementary class size.
